Holiday Season, Hooptydoo and Dickery Dock..

What a holiday season it has been. Are you with me?

It’s so hard to NOT eat everything that placed in front of you. It’s so hard to NOT have another drink, whether its alcohol, soda, coffee etc..

You know how it goes, the conversations are in full swing around the table and the wine seems to always be filled to the rim! The treats keep coming and our fingers keep grabbing..eat, talk, drink, talk…

How does that happen, next thing you know you need to use the rest room, you stand up and whooo.. the room tilts to the left and you feel like your going to explode.

Some tips & tricks on how I  manage staying on track ?

I keep my wine or drinking glass filed with ice and water. Maybe throw a lemon, lime or other delicious piece of fruit to make it festive and fun! Staying hydrated helps me eat less and keeps the invisible wine glass fillers away. This also keeps my hand busy, I reach less for the desserts if I have something in my hand.

When I fill my plate with food, I make an effort to first choose the most nutritious items like salad and veggies. I than fill the rest of my place with a nibble of everything else. I don’t want to completely deprive myself..I do love goodies. I just want to fill my belly with items that will make me feel good and provide nutrients.

Find a seat away from the table , dinner and dessert.

Take a quick break, maybe a five minute walk outside for some fresh air. Take a buddy along!

Call it an early night! You bet, as we get older ,we get wiser. Even your host wants to call it quits but shes to hospitable to throw your butt out..help her and leave early on your own.

Celebrate when you leave the party feeling great! Remember that the next party you walk into and follow the same guidelines..
